The present selection of abstracts is particularly rich in different domains, wherever hypnosis is acknowledged as a reliable method of intervention and research. Significant contributions examine the role of hypnosis as a key parameter involved in experimental studies using neurobehavioral paradigms, where it confers the brain the ability to modulate and effectively impact the processing of memory and pain, as well as the expression of consistent cognitive effects (i.e. Stroop and Hayling), as well as the physiological correlates emerging from EEG and imaging (fMRI/PET) objectivity. Other contributions reviewed the role of hypnosis in comparison/adjunction with other therapeutic methods, and the outstanding epistemic position played also as a form of investigation itself. Proceedings in the clinical use of ericksonian hypnosis are also discussed in the treatment of depression, pain and stress management, where recent results highlight the impact of expectations, rapport and work alliance linked to healing outcomes.
Keywords: hypnosis, neurobehavioral, neurophysiological, research, psychotherapy, depression, rapport.
