The paper explores the development of the career trajectories of PhDs in Social Sciences and Humanities, analyzing them from two complementary points of view: first, we analyze the el-ements that can influence the variability of the entire career in terms of mobility between sec-tors and between countries, in the second part we consider the individual career steps and the determinants that favor the passage between different jobs.
Keywords: Career mobility, PhD, career trajectories, research career, segmentation, flexibility.
