In recent years, the labour market in the agricultural sector has undergone profound chang- es: labour outsourcing has increased, employment has gradually spread, as well as the pres- ence of immigrant workers. For the latter, careers in agriculture are often temporary, with short-term permanence within the sector and no clear signs of stabilization of workers’ ca- reers. This article describes, with specific reference to the context of the Veneto region, the main changes that have affected the sector and that have led to an increase in the use of la- bor outsourcing. It then focuses on the growing presence of immigrant workers in agricul- ture and new recruitment methods. Lastly, the study presents the main findings of an analy- sis aimed at identifying the employment pathways of immigrant workers who have worked in the regional agricultural sector.
