After recalling the "Costa Concordia" shipwreck, the article examines criminal proceedings against captain and crew members on board for violations of the Italian Penal Code and Italian Code of Navigation (particular attention is paid to shipwreck, manslaughter and abandoning ship). The paper represents a preparatory work about one of the most important criminal trial in the italian judiciary overview.
