The relationship between institutions and economy is often represented, uncritically, as relationship between state and market, between law’s authority and freedom of competition. The historical and methodological combination among the problems under discussion and the related studies are actually deeper. They seems to lead, through epistemological paths sometimes more visible than other, to common anthropological matrix, already evident, for example, in an author like Giambattista Vico.
