The paper is a survey of a number of works of the American philosopher Richard Rorty recently published in Italy, that have significantly contributed to the diffusion and study of Rorty’s ideas both on an epistemological-metaphysical and on an ethical- political level. The paper offers a critical reading of Rorty’s works with the aim of pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of his original and provocative theses.
