Scholars can resolve the practical and interpretive problems of housing poverty by unrav-elling the theoretical and epistemological knots at its root. This article argues that critical con-tributions by Antonio Tosi have effectively anticipated many of the radical critiques of the so-cial science as Tosi was deeply concerned with relationality and difference. From his work social researchers could learn to balance the continuing epistemic gap with possible theoretical convergences and empirical advances.
