The author examines emotional impact of the therapist’s pregnancy on the analytic couple. Little attention has been paid by literature to this matter, even less to child psychotherapy. In this regard, the author presents a case example of a 7 years old child, taken from her clinical experience while she was pregnant for the first time. This situation shows how the intrusion into the analytical space of the real baby in womb could alter the relational field, producing emotions, fantasies and defences in both analytic partners and how a working through of transference and countertransference contents, mobilized by the event during session, could be the necessary ground for evolution of the therapeutic process.
