The theoretical relation between Gentile and Marx is an important episode in the history of contemporary thought. This essay focuses on some of the main scholarly interpretations on this topic and argues that Gentile’s actualism is a "praxistical" reform of the Hegelian dialectic, or rather, a redefinition of the Hegelian dialectic mediated by Marx’s philosophy of praxis.

Keywords: Actualism, dialectic, Gentile, Marx, marxism, praxis.
