Osservatorio dipendenze: sistema informativo, valutazione, ricerca, qualità - The professional role of the sociologist employed by the Services for addiction and dependency of Regione Emilia-Romagna has undergone a strong process of improvement either in organizational settings and in the normative ones. His/her role and the his/her sociological functions have been strenghten by the Coordination of the Dependency Observatories. These structures have the mission of providing reliable and comparable information on the drugs and their consequences, with a specific regard to informational needs for assessment and planning by the decision makers. The Dependency Observatories have the responsability of three areas: information system, evaluation, and research. In the last year, one more dimension has been added: the quality and institutional accreditation of Services.
