This report focuses on the rural landscapes of the Capitanata area, an important territory in the geography of agro-food production where traces and signs thicken on the ground of the dynamics of migrant workers exploitation, in transit or permanently resident in the Apulian regional context, exacerbated by power hierarchies and economic processes on a transnational scale. Through multidisciplinary investigations, the reflections develop different positions around the socio-spatial paradigm of the informal ‘field’ and its ‘overcoming,’ understood as emancipation from housing, labour and economic precariousness, and confront complementary theoretical and pragmatic approaches, according to the aims pursued by the two research groups involved.
