In order to bring back criminal execution into law, it is absolutely necessary to work on the structures that host prisoners, rethinking the existing spaces and imag-ining those that are not there. The criminal enforcement that works is the one that produces freedom, that puts in condition those who must serve the penalty of be-ing able to “use” constructively that time, even if brief, to be able to define oneself as a subject and to preserve his dignity intact in every moment and in every situa-tion.
