This article clarifies some legal aspects of these new negotiated planning agreements - wetland contracts -, in particular their relationship with spatial plans. The contributions is organized in three parts. The first section focuses on the regulation of wetland contracts. The second deals with the legal effectiveness of these contracts. The final third section discusses the relationship between wetland contracts and planning instruments.
