The paper provides an overview of health management training system in Italy by focussing on regional training offer. In particular, the study addresses two points: organizational config-urations of management training in the different Regions; main features of the courses and training provision. The analysis highlights that the Italian context is highly differentiated in relation to both regional organizational configurations and training plans’ features. In particu-lar, three models of regional governance have been detected by taking into consideration the body responsible for organizing the training: public bodies chosen by regional governments; universities; private organizations.

Keywords: Management training; health management; medical profession; managerialism; cor-poratization; regionalization.
