This contribution aims at exam the food and wine routes’ discipline, through the analysis of regional, National and european sources, to observe their main issues and perspectives. As will be said, cultural routes in general can become important tools for cultural heritage’s enhancement and sustainable tourism with a special view to local development. The author claims cultural routes bring together the public administration and the private subjects, the landscape, the tourism and the cultural heritage.
