Drawing on the concept of planetary urbanization, this paper seeks to explore the urbanity of Prosecco’s production zones in the Veneto Region. As a globalizing area - linked to the flows of wine production and export -, the portrait is that of an extremely dynamic territory, anything but slow, remote and with a prevailing rural character. The article aims at investigating the transformation and persistence of the rationality underlying the Veneto model of economic and territorial organization.

Keywords: Prosecco; wine-growing; Veneto Region; urbanity; planetary urbanization.
