The paper analyzes some significant passages in the semantic, historical, and social evolution of the concepts of "border", and "frontier", with a special focus on the destiny of the "Nation-State". Although the contemporary scenario is characterized by the rise of sovereignisms, it is necessary to promote dialogue, as necessary way and guarantee for the preservation of humanity
