Human trafficking is a phenomenon characterised by a transnational dimension that currently exceeds the traditional distinction among countries of origin, transit or destination. In this essay, the authors wonder about the main aspects of child trafficking of minors, as an extremely vulnerable category, in the Italian territory, which is exposed to migratory flows due to its geographic location. The aim of this article is to highlight the heuristic potential of an interdisciplinary approach to the issue, starting from a focus on both the recognition of vulnerability and the best interest of the child as a precondition of inclusion and openness to possible paths of citizenship.
