The definition of gentrification is evolving due to the changes in settlement pro-cesses. Carmine neighborhood in the city of Brescia has many potential gentrifica-tion’s features. However, the paper will prove how the general perception about the neighborhood is wrong and how the lack of social planning aspects, connected to an urban regeneration work, could produce positive and unforeseen effects in terms of achievement of a multicultural city or - at least - improvement of urban life quality.
