In this article we isolated a significant case study (the news coverage of the occupation of a crane in Brescia by some immigrant workers). The analysis showed the immigrant’s capability, when they gain voice, to express an alternative voice, other than the usual representations of migration in mainstream medias, typically characterized by "securitarian" (and sometimes pietistic) frames. This different frame is structured around the issue of human rights and is characterized by pragmatism and concreteness, where the civil society voices, instead, seem to be still abstract and less effective.
