The article, based on recent OCSE research, provides a review of main trends in reform processes of evaluation models in the field of educational systems. In the first part, the analysis focuses on approaches based on notions of accountability and improvement, which represent two central concepts in the development of educational systems. Subsequently, the article introduces four element proposed by OCSE to articulate the evaluation system: student assessment, teacher appraisal, school evaluation and system evaluation. Finally, for each element, the article proposes a brief analysis of international common trends.
