A conference organized on a cruise ship is the chance that Camillo Loriedo and Guglielmo Gulotta capture to dwell on some of the most discussed aspects of hypnosis: from the so-called robbery under hypnosis, which, as the literature confirms, seem to consist in the application of confusional techniques, to the sexual exploitation during hypnotherapy, and finally to the application, in forensic context, of the hypnosis for the recovery of memories. The Code of Penal Procedure, with articles 64 (the defendants) and 188 (for witnesses), does not allow "methods or techniques liable to affect the freedom of self-determination or influence the ability to remember and to evaluate the facts". In any case, the Authors warn, it is necessary to avoid "suggestive" questions and consider the testimony under hypnosis an information like others: the truth will arrive, as usual, only by matching of different information.
