Le evidenze di disuguaglianze sanitarie per le persone migranti hanno richiesto un riorientamento delle politiche sanitarie affinche si sviluppino servizi sanitari sensibili alla diversita, culturalmente competenti ed equi. La competenza culturale, indicata come strategia per promuovere equita per i "diversi" gruppi di utenza, richiede interventi a livello individuale, organizzativo e di sistema. L’implementazione di pratiche organizzative culturalmente competenti appare eterogenea nel contesto italiano. Lo studio ha l’obiettivo di esplorare i significati che i manager di aziende sanitarie attribuiscono alla competenza culturale quale strategia aziendale; come tale strategia informa le pratiche manageriali e le scelte in materia di governance e di servizi da erogare; le barriere e i fattori facilitanti l’implementazione di un sistema organizzativo culturalmente competente. La ricerca e stata sviluppata secondo un approccio qualitativo attraverso la metodologia dello studio di caso. Il contributo riporta i dati raccolti in tre organizzazioni sanitarie di tre regioni italiane. Sono state svolte interviste individuali e di gruppo a figure manageriali e/o con responsabilita su interventi culturalmente competenti (n =15). Il materiale e stato analizzato tramite analisi tematica. I risultati mostrano il riferimento a diversi concetti guida per promuovere l’equita per la salute dei migranti e il ruolo di fattori contestuali nell’influenzarne l’implementazione organizzativa. I dati riportano la presenza di pratiche per favorire l’accesso e la qualita della cura. Tuttavia, sembrano necessari ulteriori sforzi per integrare i principi e le pratiche di competenza culturale a tutti i livelli dell’organizzazione e promuovere pratiche partecipative che coinvolgano migranti e stakeholder.;
