This makes children a vulnerable population. Consequences of maltreatment on children and on their development and health are well known. We know that child neglect is not the principal cause of maltreatment from adults. In these adults there is a desire, often sincere, of educating them, and this is what they are doing in their opinion. In such a way, maltreatment is justified in the name of education. In 1996 an alliance was established between different institutions, interested in children, the Agreement for Good-Treatment, with the aim of presenting a different proposal, at a national level and with different forms, of gratifying and positive relationships between persons, not only to prevent children maltreatment, but also to promote different forms of education, health and well being among Colombians. This Agreement elaborated three basic strategies, from which specific actions were developed: training and education, communication and social mobilisation, support to initiatives initiated by and aimed at children. On these bases different actions were pursued in different settings and domains. Key words: good traitment, maltreatment, infancy, education, prevention, culture, Colombia.;
