The article presents and discusses the essays published in the Collana per l’Osservatorio sulla formazione giuridica (Series for the Legal Training Observatory), edited by Vincenzo Cerulli Irelli and Orlando Roselli and published by Edizioni Scientifiche Italiane. The main theme is the need to capture the synapses connecting legal teaching and legal science: it is only by achieving a complete awareness of this nexus and rendering it explicit that a new profile of lawyer will be able to emerge, one who will be conscious of the challenges set by the new reality of legal orders today.
