After exposing the definitions of medical intelligence, the article focuses on the conjunction of the two terms: medical intelligence is characterized by applying the intelligence point of view to public and private health. The research undertaken aimed to assess the current state of knowledge in this field. Findings highlight a significant gap between the expertise of specialists and the broader public’s understanding, alongside a growing demand for information and heightened awareness of potential risks. The article concludes by emphasizing that, although rooted in military applications, medical intelligence now extends beyond its original scope. It can be viewed as a subset of health literacy—an essential tool for combating misinformation and contributing to a broader strategy for democratic empowerment.
