In recent years, I have had the privilege of analyzing musicians, particularly instrumentalists, through whom I have learned and witnessed the intimate connection between analytical psychology and its effects on the body. In this intervention, I will focus on exploring the diaphragm between the psychological and the physical through the act of playing music, which seems to summon the unconscious (unconsciousness) in the very act of producing sound from the musical instrument. This tight, intimate knot undergoes surprising modifications during analysis and can contribute decisively to the musician's technical improvement and well-being, and on our part, shed some light on areas of the psyche otherwise invisible.
Keywords: psychology of music, self-object, music and neuroscience, proto-conversation, body and voice.
