The article aims to address two closely related issues: on the one hand, during the first decades of the twentieth century, of the parish cinemas diffusion in the Milanese diocese, that accompanied the progressive definition of more and more specialized venues and technical equipment; on the other hand, the critical and potential issues these spaces, not surprisingly called ‘Community Halls’, are currently facing to underline their multipurpose buildings nature, renewing their original function at disposal of the parishes and their communities.
