This paper aims at offering a preliminary analysis of the theoretical frameworks and policy responses to the phenomenon of Islamic radicalization in the Italian penitentiary system. In particular, through a historical reconstruction of the administrative responses to political crimes, an attempt will be made to analyze the type of specific interventions connected to the phenomenon of radicalization and their possible effectiveness.
