Martone’s film "The fabulous young man" on Giacomo Leopardi’s biography and contemporarily the publication of the translation in English (by M. Ceasar) of Leopardi’s work Zibaldone, gave the Author the opportunity to deepen the masterpiece "Infinity" of the poet-philosopher. Poetry and philosophy, logics, psychology and epistemology can be found in the 15 verses most famous in the world. The various interpretations of "Infinity" confirm the enigma of the plurality of meanings of this concept, from Newton’s and Leibnitz’s infinitesimal calculus, to Cantor’s set theory, from platonism to unconscious, from classicism to romanticism, from systemic circularity to unlimited succession of the postmodern hypertrophic serialism.

Keywords: Leopardi; Martone; Succession; Desire; Circularity; Limit; Postmodernism.
