According to the Italian sociological approach to the quality of work and in particular to Luciano Gallino and Michele La Rosa writings, the concept of quality of work is very complex and it has a distinctly multidimensional character. In order to have a high quality of work it is necessary to carry out an activity that is coherent with one’s own abilities and aptitudes, which allows one to develop one’s own skills and guarantee adequate salary levels, a good social climate and more. Measuring the quality of work is therefore a complex operation, which requires detailed data capable of grasping the aspects that define the concept of quality itself. The contribution presents the empirical evidence emerging from the IV survey on the quality of work carried out by Inapp in 2015. As postulated by the theoretical framework, five synthetic indicators were built and, using multivariate statistical methodologies, the determinants of different levels of the indicators were analysed.
