This paper explores the complex and sporadic relationships that exist between the field of psychiatry-related studies and disability studies. The intention is to try to understand some of the reasons and divergences between these two fields. More recently, the field of Mad Studies is trying to bridge the gap, starting mainly from people’s direct experience.
