The study of Archives is concerned with the work of conservation and classification of historical records and with the management of current archives and their storage systems in both public institutions and private companies. Recent legislation (UNI 11536) recognises the common bases of these two skills and the intellectual and specialized character of both. Frase cass. Although existing educational curricula (schools for archivists and universities) tend to split the study of archives into different disciplines, its organic unity should be preserved. At the same time, some knowledge of archives is essential for a number of other professions, in particular those concerned with computers. With these subjects archivists can establish profitable forms of exchange and cooperation.
